Serving the transmission service and auto repair needs of the West Bank of New Orleans for over 40 years.

West Transmission and Total Auto Care is a family owned and operated auto care facility serving the New Orleans and West Bank areas. Our ten auto service bays to serve you quickly and efficiently, and our ASE certified technicians are always ready to answer your questions with a smile.
We offer one day auto service in many cases, and our special lift equipment allows us to work on larger vehicles such as limousines, school buses and motor homes.

Our hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am - 11:00 am for your convenience. Shuttle service is available to most locations on West Bank.

About Us

Cal and Dan West opened the doors to their Cottman Transmission location in Gretna, Louisiana back in 1975. they built their reputation on honest, quality work at a fair price. Because of their strong business ethics the Gretna location of Cottman soon became the number one location in the nation! With the growth of the business, the need for a larger location became apparent. A new, larger state-of-the-art facility was built at their current location at 2101 Whitney Ave in Gretna, only one half mile from their original location. This modern facility with ten lifts is designed for efficient work flow with a minimum of downtime.
